SO! I was listening to WBB and got very, very excited about the magic mirror. So excited, that I bought this beautiful 1950's hand mirror/brush combo on Etsy. At first, I was thinking the brush was just a bonus. Then when I got it, I remembered that my hair dresser once told me that an old-fashioned way of conditioning hair with your natural oils was to do 100 brush strokes before bed. So it got me to thinking, since this brush is exactly the kind of brush for that purpose... and it's very relaxing so - I want to make a before bed ritual out of this! It's going to be about self-love, so I'm consecrating both the mirror and the brush on Friday and I'm going to consecrate the brush in the planetary hour of Venus, and the mirror in the planetary hour of the Sun. So here are my questions: 1. What number of brush strokes should I choose? I don't know much about numerology, and I'd like to choose a number somewhere around one hundred. I was thinking something like 9 or 8 sets of 6. Anyone who knows anything about numerology I would be very happy to hear from! I'm thinking I'll write a little chant for each set. 2. What would this ritual be? I don't intend it to be a spell, per say, as I want it to be something I do every night for a while, then maybe when I need it. It doesn't seem like a charm either. Would that just be a ritual?
I'm thinking of lighting a venus colored candle as I do it, but not set up my whole altar, as I have to set it up and tear it down every time. Then maybe some Venus face cream or perfume or something! I also want to integrate the color purple here as the design on the brush is purple...but it's not a venus color. What do ye think? Any ideas appreciated! Also I should of course include a picture. It was surprisingly inexpensive, and I am having so much fun planning the consecration and the ritual. 💕 Blessed Be!
Yeah, after having done to consecration I’ve relaxed a lot about the numbers and whatnot. Just doing the little chant i usually forget to count anyway, so it’s relaxed a bit!
Hi Dot, bringing such a direct physical experience into ritual is a great idea. When you are brushing your hair/stimulating your scalp, you will be more present and aware of the moment, and less bothered by random thoughts. Sounds like a focused, relaxing ritual all by itself.
@Dot , go over the correspondences in the WBB handouts. All the numbers are in there! BB
