So what magic or books linked to the Craft would you recommend or are currently reading.?
I have just finished Mythology by Patrick Auerbach which covers Norse, Greek and Egyptian myths as a brief overview. Before that I had finally read Crowley - Cocaine, Book of the Law, Magick and Book of Lies. Much of which I found indecipherable. Although I did enjoy Magick the most.
I think now I am going to read The Kybalion as I'd like to journey bit deeper into Hermeticism for a while. And the Kindle version was cheap on Amazon. :)
Do you have a recoemmended reading list Ariel? I know you have mentioned several publications over the years of the podcasts.
I read ancient Greek culture this period...Kingsley about magic and mysticism , orpheus hymns, and about the elements in ancient Greek culture (pythagora hippocrates trismegisus etc (
In his recent lecture on the Ego Ariel mentioned Genesis (read magically not religiously) and also Piomandres from the Corpus Hermeticum as being good resources for exploring the Ego ( free pdf online of CH)
In one of the WBB class lectures he mentions Cunningham's Magical Herbalism and his Encylcopedia of Magical Herbs. He also mentions Crowley's 777 for correspondences - I was able to find this as a free PDF online.
I love reading books from Sandra Ingerman. For me, shamanism is a kind of magic and I love her sight on the world(s).
I have a great german book about tarot It is called "der Tarot Lehrgang" and covers colors and numerologie as well as the kabala.
Another grat german author for me is Jeanne Ruland. She writes about angels, the platonian geometrics, spirit animals and so on. I started my journey in the shamanic way, so I read a lot about it.
Maybe there are some germans here. I would recomend the book "Schlüsselworte zur Astrologie" and of course stuff from Paunger/ Poppe about the Moon.
In english I only can recomend the complete book of incense, oils and brews and cunninghams ecyclopedia of crystal, gem and metal magic.
With all that I don´t know if any of this fits in Ariels System. I am excited what he recommends.
Blessed be
I've been working with Daniel Foor's Ancestral Medicine book and courses for the last few years. His website, ancestralmedicine.com has some great podcasts. I am enjoying the fact that during this time of Covid-19 isolation, I'm studying/working with both Ariel's and Daniel's methods. For me, there are complementary aspects, though they might not be immediately obvious.
There is a very simple book I stumbled upon in a used bookstore a long time ago, and find myself opening it very regularly ever since. Wheel of the Year- Campanelli. It goes month by month, tracking the changes in nature and translating it to your home and daily life. Definitely a magic for beginners type of book. Nothing too deep or mystical, but I manage to pick it up every month so thats something!
Good idea!!! I'll work on it.
Yes please Ariel - I would greatly benefit from a recommended reading list too.
