Odetta is one of my favourite artists of all time. She is a black woman and often overlooked founder of the 50’s - 60’s folk music revival. I want to share this song of hers, because she is singing about exactly what Ariel spoke about in this lecture, and because I believe it is important to amplify black voices at this time. Here it is: Odetta’s Hit or Miss. https://youtu.be/n6DGzbli4qM

Hi this black woman is wondering why race and gender is necessary in your share? Do you do that when you share music from white Male artists? Just curious (&furious)
Her voice is super powerful! I'm a songwriter so I love learning about strong female singers.
Happy you liked it! She’s so amazing.
I loved that! New singer to learn about. Thank you!
Dot, thank you for sharing.
