Hi everyone!
I'm looking for suggestions for some subtle music to use in the background during rituals and non-guided meditations.
I would prefer silence, but unfortunately that's not always an option. You'd think living in a Norwegian forest would be peaceful but I guess I missed a lot of fine print when I moved here. Trying to relax with ATVs roaring and chainsaws wailing in the background is... well, it doesn't work.
Anyway, I like the background music in Ariel's meditations and it would be nice to find something similar. Preferably a longer track or an album or something, so it can just play as long as needed without interruptions. Something soft, uplifting, and gentle enough to not be distracting but still allow me to escape from outside noises when needed.
I've been searching, but there is just so much out there so I thought I'd ask here in case anyone has some favourites to share :)
Thanks in advance!
This might be a little too chill for what you are looking for but I enjoy Moby's free meditation music

This is perfect! Oh my goodness. I'm so glad I asked! This is precisely what I've been searching for. Thank you so very much!!
Still open to other suggestions too if anyone has them! It's great to have some options for different moods etc :)
I have had this album on my computers & devices for I don't know how long! I think it may be some of the music Ariel uses on his meditations and that is why I bought it in the first place

I have had some of these for a long time as well. They come with guided meditation as well as no voice and they are actually really beautiful.

@Shannon you are amazing! You're right, that definitely does sound like the music from the meditations which will help with transitioning to doing more work without guidance. I thought about this before but for some reason I've always assumed that Ariel made the music himself and it wasn't available separately. I'm not sure where that idea came from. This is just wonderful. Thank you! ❤️
Hmm, after listening to it a little more I'm not sure if it will work the way I thought. While it's very pleasant to listen to and works beautifully when Ariel is guiding the meditation, I think it will be distracting on its own with all the different instruments coming in and out. The Moby album will probably work better as it's much more subtle and less "grabby" so I'll try working with that first and see how it goes.
This stuff isn’t “nice” but, I do find it amazing for trance work. I love Terry Riley ... especially his album Persian Surgery Dervishes. It’s a little dark sounding, but I do find it works well with certain kinds of rituals. I love repetitive minimalistic stuff to help my trances.
Oh yes Persian Surgery is cool!
I like something called “Cello Drones” it’s basically a note played continuously ( used to stay in tune when playing an instrument like a cello) What’s cool about it is you can pick a note that corresponds to a chakra. Might be too boring for some but I find it very relaxing.
This is great @Heather; just searched it on YouTube.. couldn't resist going into folk song above the drone lol. Think I might use this as a base and layer some other audio on top to aid in trance. Thank you!
Glad you liked it. Sometimes I play it in my car just to help me chill out
That sounds really cool-is it on youtube? I love the chakra connection.
Here is a playlist with them on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-DyGoFkAJ1GRwBhUD4AOTewsr6l-x8qe
@Bella That is really cool! Thanks for the link :)
I bought it off Apple Music but it might be on you tube
I used to listen to a couple beautiful pieces composed by Ariel. I believe the music in the Primer is called Bridget. Is that still available?
