First, we read the psalm out loud from start to finish without stopping. This is known as an incantation. Once that’s done, we go back through the psalm, verse by verse, and look for hidden or “occult” meanings. These meanings act as “magic seeds.” As we uncover them, we connect their deeper significance to the specific situation we are working on. By doing this, we plant those “magic seeds” in the fertile ground of our deep minds, where they take root, grow, and eventually bear fruit. This is the essence of how psalm magic works. The word "Lord" in the King James Bible translates the Tetragrammaton, YHVH, which was traditionally seen as the proper name of the Creator. People have long held superstitions about God's name. For centuries, many believed that God's ineffable name shouldn't be spoken, either because it was considered disrespectful, cursed, or to avoid taking the Lord's name in vain. From a magical perspective, it's not really a matter of whether we should or shouldn't speak God's name—it's that doing so is inherently impossible. To name God is to put a finite label on the Infinite, which can't be done. Saying that God's name is unspeakable is simply a reminder of this; it's a way of acknowledging the divine's boundless nature. Rather than a superstition, it points to the eternal truth that the divine cannot be fully defined. In the Psalms , a name reflects the essence or character of someone or something. So, God's name isn’t just YHVH; it also embodies God's qualities. That's why God has many names—because God is infinite. God embodies boundless love, life, spirit, soul, intelligence, truth, law, presence, and countless other qualities. How excellent is thy name throughout all the earth.  In the Psalms, the "name" of God refers to the qualities of the Infinite. "Earth" symbolizes our lived experiences, the tangible aspects of our lives. By acknowledging this, we begin to invite the qualities of the Infinite into our personal experiences. When we invite these qualities into our manifest situations, they become "excellent." Who has elevated Your glory beyond the heavens.  The idea of God being elevated is simply a reminder that the Infinite is the source of all that is. It is the one force in all the universe, and nothing else exists. The mere realization of this can solve any problem. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. There is something so honest about the way children and babies see the world. They remind us of who we really are before things get complicated—pure, simple, and inherently good. At our core, that’s exactly how we were meant to be and how we remain: innocent and whole in the eyes of the Infinite. Regardless of our actions, the heights of our intellect, or how we interact with one another, and despite the layers of our ego that may seem overwhelming in various situations, it ultimately doesn’t matter. The Infinite has granted us strength amid all of this. So, regardless of the challenges you face in the tangible world, the magnificence of the Infinite reigns supreme, and nothing can stand against it. The power of the Infinite has instilled strength to solve any challenge and overcome all perceived adversaries. Regardless of what your ego mind presents to you, it is consistently outmatched by this divine force. The ego mind is clever and deceitful, often distracting us from focusing on the Infinite. The Infinite is pure truth, and thus perpetually poses a challenge to the ego because it brings clarity to every situation, causing anything that doesn’t align with this truth to fade away. It’s crucial to remind ourselves of this reality:  “that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.” The “enemy and the avenger” represents the cause of your problems. Remember, all problems originate in the ego mind, which keeps us focused on issues rather than the Infinite. When we focus on problems, the ego persists. However, shifting our focus from problems back to the Infinite causes both the problems and their root—this ego mind—to dissolve. The ego mind is a thought system based on one idea: 'I am separate.' It views you as separate from good, the Infinite, and others—feeling insignificant, small, and like a mere speck. The Infinite has the power to overturn this ego thought system. The ego knows it’s no match for the Infinite, and that its only tool is distraction, keeping us occupied with everything but  the Infinite. When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? This introspection is vital because we often absorb our ego's messages, such as "I'm unimportant," or even "I'm nothing." We might see ourselves as tiny particles and believe we have little to no worth. Interestingly, this mindset, rather than being humble, breeds arrogance, pushing us to present a false strength to mask our insecurities and deal with others' egos. We are inherently divine, powerful extensions of truth. Our essence is strength, but we also have free will to choose our thoughts. If we believe we are insignificant, that view shapes our self-perception, and thus our experiences. How we see our importance shapes whether we feel inadequate and thus inflate our egos to protect ourselves, or whether we accept ourselves as we were created, perfect, holy, and magnificent.  The Son of Man has several connotations, but if you think of the Son of Man as the oversoul of all people—the divine child of the infinite, the divine child of God, of which we are all part—it puts it all into perspective. You are the “Son of Man.” You are the divine Child of the Infinite. For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor. To suggest that we are somewhat below the angels was quite a big deal to these ancient cultures. It counters the notion that we are insignificant. Being close to the angels meant we were elevated. However, in the eyes of the Infinite, distinctions of higher and lower do not exist.   The whole concept of an angelic hierarchy, such as what we study in angel magic , is designed to help our understanding, as we tend to perceive things in terms of levels. We categorize experiences as having potency or a lack thereof, as dark or light, good or bad, strong or weak. Yet, the Infinite perceives only the unity of existence. "You have created man a little lower than the angels and have adorned him with glory and honor," conveys that we are the divine child of the Infinite, who is pleased with us. Our actions cannot alter the Infinite‘s perception of us because the Infinite understands that it does not create anything worthless.  Even if we have self-critical thoughts, they do not impact how the Infinite views us. Often, we may believe that being self-deprecating in front of the Infinite will somehow endear us to it or show that we are humble rather than arrogant. However, the Infinite is fully aware of our true selves. Instead of saying, "I'm just a tiny speck; I'm unworthy," we should be asking the Infinite: "Please reveal to me how you see me. Help me understand the true essence of who I am. Show me how you have blessed me with glory and honor." Thou madest him to have dominion over the work of thy hands. Thou hast put all things under his feet.  Dominion doesn't mean we can do whatever we want. Dominion means we are responsible for caring for the world around us. We were given this world, and we have failed in our duty to take care of it. Our ego has gotten in the way, and we have mistreated the Earth. But no matter how much we fail or how much our ego screams at us, we are still valued in the eyes of the Infinite . We have kicked and screamed, showing the Infinite that we are unworthy of being here, as if the Infinite made a mistake by creating us. But the Infinite knows who we truly are. Feet represent "understanding." When all things have been placed under our feet, it means that in order to have power over anything in our lives, we must first understand it. This is reflected in Solomon's prayer for understanding, which was answered with great wealth. All sheep and oxen, yea, all the beasts of the field, the fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the sea, everything is ours. Psalm 8 reminds us that everything is our gift. The world is a precious gift from God to us, and we are ourselves a gift from God to the world. Take this message to heart: the world is a gift meant for you, and you are meant to be a gift for the world.  I recall that in my childhood, people often asked sarcastically, "Who do you think you are, God's gift to the world?" to imply arrogance. If anyone ever asks you that, you can reply, "Yes, and so are you." The problem is we forget we are God’s gift to the world. And then we don’t act like it. The Infinite has willed for us to remember this because it is true. When we remember, we start seeing things differently. I’ve been here this whole time as a gift. And the whole world has been a gift to me. Wow, does that change how we look at things? How we react to things. How we treat people. How we spend money. What we think about. When we remember that who we are is a gift. And this world we live in is a gift to us. Everything changes in that moment.  Remember, claiming your power doesn’t mean you get to control others. That’s false power. Claiming your power means remembering “I am here as a gift to this world from the Infinite. I am an angel. I have access to the power of the Infinite. Everything that comes into my life is a gift. I use my gifts to be a gift to the world.” When something shows up in my life, and I don’t see the gift in it, I am interpreting it wrong. When I respond to anything in any way that isn’t a gift to the world, then I am off target. O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth. Psalm 8 opens and closes with incredible strength, forming a powerful circle that envelops you. The entire Psalm functions as this circle, empowering you, providing strength, revealing truths, and allowing you to embrace the magnificent being you are meant to be. “O Lord, our Lord, how marvelous is your name throughout the earth.” Consider what “the earth” means to you personally. It encompasses your finances, relationships, vehicle, job, and career—the various aspects of your existence—the tangible world in which you live. The Infinite is present in all the manifestations of your life. When you recognize God's name in these expressions—and what is God's name? It refers to God's qualities . If there are elements in your life that you dislike, it's because you're not observing where God's presence can be found there. Instead, you are probably focused on the ego's claims to the situation. If you're unhappy with a situation, it means you haven't reclaimed your power there. You must decide to recognize God's name in that circumstance, to see the Infinite‘s qualities rather than just the problems your ego insists you focus on. Shifting your perception in this way is crucial. You possess the ability to create change in your life and in your world by recognizing the qualities of the Infinite within your circumstances rather than the limitations of the ego. Adjust your perception so you can uncover the blessings and gifts present in every situation—the gifts that life offers you and that you are meant to share with the world—instead of fixating on the problems that the ego amplifies, which are not your inheritance. Your power is your rightful heritage. You are both the gift and the receiver of the gift—that is your divine inheritance. If your experiences don’t reflect this, then you’re encountering something not intended for you by the Infinite. This realization opens up avenues of healing, renewal, prosperity, and love. Decide to look for God's name within the situation rather than the ego's narrative. The Ego will always be pointing to a supposed “unsolvable" problem. Instead of letting your mind be cluttered with fearful thoughts, acknowledge yourself as a gift to the situation and recognize that the Infinite holds a gift for you through the situation as well. Once you attain this understanding, everything transforms, the problems dissipate, and you gain another testament to your divine power—your magical abilities, your innate supremacy as a divine child of the Infinite. Keep Working Until Your Spell "Takes" Continue working magic with Psalm 8 daily in this manner until you feel a deep sense of peace and certainty about the situation that brought you to this practice. Trust in the process and allow the divine to guide you. Once that peace and certainty settle within you, it’s a sign that your magic seeds have been planted, and the spell has been cast. At that point, simply release it from your mind and redirect your focus to other areas of your life, knowing that the universe is aligning things in your favor. Where are these wisdom and powers hidden? They are concealed within our own minds. Thought is invisible and belongs to the domain of the occult and the realm of cause. Our thoughts do not just influence our reality; they actually create it. Our thinking is responsible for what we experience on the screen of space. It's "occult" because we cannot perceive it; it is hidden. Many of our thought processes are not only hidden from our senses but also from our conscious mind, making them unconscious and even more "occult." What Is the Occult Law of Indifference? The occult law of indifference is about being indifferent to appearances—not being hypnotized by what is on the screen of space—and recognizing that what is hidden holds all true power. We must be indifferent to the visible world to gain mastery over it. Imagine sitting quietly, watching clouds drift past in the sky, without concern or fixation on any single form they take; this is the essence of indifference. It's about adopting an emotional posture that is neither apathetic nor repressive. The occult law of indifference is invoked by becoming completely undisturbed by appearances, whether they are positive or negative. Many people believe the occult law of indifference only involves remaining calm in adverse situations, but it actually means being unaffected by anything in the mortal world. While staying calm is crucial, indifference should not be mistaken for passivity. Instead, it is about being centered and allowing for constructive action that aligns with your inner will and purpose. We learn not to let ourselves get upset or overly excited about what happens in the world, for that pulls us out of the occult mind and into the mundane. We must guard against believing that what appears on the screen of space has the power, rather than recognizing that it originates from within us. For magic to work effectively, we must understand that it takes place within the invisible realm within us, guided by deliberate intent. The Quiet Mind: The Foundation of Magic To access and direct the deeper parts of your mind, you must be at peace. Actual influence comes from a quiet, centered, and focused state of mind. A quiet mind allows you to stop reacting to external circumstances, giving you the power to control them. When things go wrong or people around you panic, it's easy to get caught up in the drama and lose your focus. These are times when the "law of indifference" matters: remaining completely undisturbed by surface appearances. A simple Magic Minute practice can help you achieve this quiet mind: take a deep but comfortable breath in through your nose as you mentally repeat the word "blessed, hold it for 4 seconds, and then exhale slowly through your mouth as you mentally repeat the word "be." Repeat this cycle a few times to ground yourself in stillness and bring your focus back to the center. Being indifferent to appearances doesn't mean ignoring your problems or avoiding your responsibilities. It means staying calm while you handle your business, fully understanding that everything you experience is only temporary. A quiet mind allows you to stop reacting to outside circumstances, giving you power over your environment. The Temporal World Is Temporary The temporal world is, by definition, fleeting. Like waves dissolving on a moonlit shore, both the "good" and the "bad" events in our lives will inevitably recede. "This too shall pass" is the height of wisdom because everything in the mortal world will pass away, regardless of its nature. No matter what's happening around you, remind yourself: "This is passing.' Understand that what fades away is the realm of effect, while the realm of cause is eternal—within you and within your control. The inner 'occult' you is the real you. You are therefore eternal. Recognizing this can build a deep sense of empowerment and trust in your inner strength, helping you stay centered in your power regardless of what happens around you or what others are doing or saying. Realizing this will help you remain centered in your power. You hold complete power over every situation when you realize that what's real is internal, not external. You cannot access your internal causative power while you're emotionally reacting to external events. Therefore, we must invoke the occult law of indifference to make our magic effective. But with this power comes responsibility. How might recognizing your role in shaping reality change your moral accountability for the outcomes you experience or influence in the world? Casting Spells and Letting Go When we cast a spell for something in our lives, we create a thought form and project (cast) it onto the screen of space. Once a spell has been cast, it is our responsibility to invoke the occult law of indifference and leave the spell alone to do its work—without checking on it or nagging, "Is it here yet? Is it here yet?" After casting a spell, you must release it. Being indifferent doesn't mean ignoring issues related to that spell. But handle them calmly and with detachment. Don't talk about them. Don't get upset or excited. Manage things just like any other everyday task: laundry, loading the dishwasher, wiping counters, and packing lunches for school. Approach the matter calmly and without attachment. By doing so, you prevent disturbing the thought form of your spell. You uphold the occult law of indifference so the thought form can do its work. We know what happens when you dig up a seed to see if it's germinated yet. You often kill the seedling. Not always, but sometimes you do. We want to avoid doing that with our thought forms. So, we invoke the occult law of indifference. We learn to desire something and then remain indifferent once we've cast the spell. Desire it, then let go of thinking about it. The Dichotomy of Desire and Indifference The idea of indifference can be very difficult for someone who has never truly experienced it before. But we must do it anyway. To cast a spell, we strongly desire something, create a thought form, cast the spell, then release it and become indifferent to it once it's cast. We must then forget about it. An old Craft saying states that when we cast a circle, we enter "a time that is not a time in a place that is not a place." This saying applies not only when you physically cast a circle, but also anytime you cast a spell or perform a magical operation: you are in a space of timelessness and spacelessness. Yet, after you have finished casting, for your spell to manifest in the third dimension, it must move OUT of timelessness and spacelessness and INTO time and space. This phase can be likened to a pause between heartbeats—a moment where potential energy awaits transformation into reality. This is often depicted in various myths about three days spent in the underworld. During this period, we have nothing to do with the process and must put it out of our minds completely so the seed can germinate as it will. Trusting the Process Magic usually doesn't take much time to manifest. That's the beauty of magic: it tends to speed things up. Things done magically often happen more quickly than if we didn't cast a spell. But that doesn't necessarily mean instant manifestation. You have to respect the time-space continuum in which you're trying to manifest something. We learn to be unaffected by appearances. If we are pulled out of the occult law of indifference and catch ourselves worrying about the manifestation of our spell, it's normal. Still, we must notice it and reverse it immediately. If you catch yourself worrying whether your spell is manifesting (or worrying about anything, really), press your thumb against your forefinger in both hands, take a deep breath, and repeat "I call upon the law of indifference, all is well," and just put your worry out of your mind. As we achieve more success with our magic, we tend to carry that sense of indifference with us everywhere. That's simply the result of consistent practice over time. You find that you are practicing this law even when you haven't cast any spells. Final Thoughts The law of indifference requires vigilance and practice, but it offers a reward. You develop strong thought forms as you learn to live with greater peace and power overall. You become much more efficient with your magic, which is achieved through steady practice. Over time, through persistent indifference, we become less reactive to external chaos. For instance, when an unexpected job change occurs, instead of panic, we engage our quiet mind and respond with calm and clarity. As we continue to take control of our inner occult powers in this manner, we find ourselves employed in a better job than we ever anticipated as possible. Thus, this ongoing practice doesn't just affect spell-casting; it builds our everyday resilience, equipping us to handle life's uncertainties with poise. Remembering that you are the creator of your experience is truly worth your time and effort, as it puts you in the driver's seat. Your state of mind is your most powerful occult tool. The occult law of indifference is a way to access that powerful magical realm and stay there—not just spell to spell, which is often where we start, but in every aspect of your life, every moment. Whatever tries to vex you, affirm: “This does not affect me. This does not move me. This is passing away now.” As you speak these words, feel your feet firmly grounded on the earth. Qabalistic concepts can be recursive; as each layer is unraveled, a new level is introduced, further reflecting the structure that exists within and around us. We briefly looked at the first sphere: Kether (the Crown), whose holy name is Eheyeh  ("I Am"). We then looked at the second sphere, Chokmah (Wisdom), whose holy name is The Tetragrammaton (YHVH). Chokmah is the Father. We now look into the third sphere, Binah (Understanding), whose holy name is YHVH Elohim. Binah is the archetypal Great Mother.  You can interpret YHVH Elohim to mean "God exists as the gods". Now this may seem strange, but bear with me here if you have been indoctrinated into the patriarchal notion that God is a great man in the sky. Names in Hebrew describe functions. YHVH means “One who IS.” Elohim is a plural Hebrew word translated as "the gods" or "the heavenly host". Binah is the feminine aspect of the Godhead. While Chokmah, the second sphere, represents the Father. Binah, the third sphere, represents the Mother and births the host of heaven. Through her, the multitude of forms and powers flow into the rest of the Tree. The Simultaneous Dance of Wisdom and Understanding We can easily fall into linear thinking when studying the Tree of Life. Thinking that because three is after two, those spheres emanated in that order. The numbers simply indicate position and function, not necessarily time or sequence. The second sphere, Chokmah (Wisdom), and the third sphere, Binah (Understanding), occurred simultaneously. They are the two forces/poles that split from the one crown of sphere one, Kether. Visualize the first sphere as a pure, undefined force. This force expresses itself as positive and negative polarities (battery poles). Sphere one, the Crown, extends itself as spheres two and three, the Father and the Mother. Chokmah can be viewed as the fire separating from the water. Binah would be the water separated from that fire. The two are separate but connected, both emanations of the same source, and are crowned with the single crown, Eheyeh (I Am). The Anatomy of the Tree of Life indicates that the expansion of energy called "I Am" overflows into spheres two and three. When the Father (Sphere two) goes looking for his mate, he finds HER waiting for him. She does not "work for" Him, nor does He "work for" Her. These are two coequal principles through which creation occurs. She is the Great Contemplative Mirror, the Fountainhead, the primordial sea from where all life springs forth. SHE is the womb of all Being.  The Mother Archetype Across Traditions In no way is the idea of the Great Mother confined to Qabalah. You can find her in thousands of cultures and spiritual paths throughout history. Linguistically, the word Mary shares its root with Mari, which means sea. Mary could thus be tied to the archetype of Binah, the sea of understanding from which we are all born. Isis is her face in Egypt, Astarte and Asherah in ancient Canaan. She surfaces as Brigid in Celtic traditions and is known as Shekinah, the indwelling mother, in Pauline traditions. Christian Trinities of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit correspond to the Tree. The Father is sphere two (Chokmah), the Son is represented in sphere six ( Tiphareth ), while the Holy Spirit is sphere three (Binah). Before a more patriarchal church emerged around Hebraic beliefs, ancient Israelites worshiped Yahweh and his wife, Asherah . Worship of the goddess was later subsumed into that of the Holy Spirit in the Christian faith. Everywhere we look in ancient civilizations and cultures worldwide, there she is. For countless generations, people the world over have instinctively known and experienced the sacred feminine. She is the Earth Mother, the Great Goddess, Gran Madre, or just Mama. Her role as the creator and nurturer points to her being the Mother of All. Binah on the Tree of Life is understanding, the force through which all things are created. She shows us compassion and understanding while teaching us how to navigate our earthly experience. She is, regardless of the culture, the God in female form that guides us to our Father. There is no masculine without feminine and vice versa. These are two forces that are always in balance as one in our universe. Saturn and the Structure of Atonement Every sphere on the Tree of Life has its correspondences, but Binah is the first sphere that correlates with a planet: Saturn. This isn’t coincidental. In geometry, three is the first number that can form a closed shape. A triangle. Before three, we have a point (one) and then a line (two). The triangle is the first true stable structure, and it rules Saturn. Saturn has been associated astrologically with Kronos. But in Qabalah, Saturn channels the Great Mother’s energy. Saturn is the oldest planet (in traditional astrology), slowest moving, and farthest from the warmth of the Sun. Saturn rules restriction, careful pace, form, time, and cause and effect. This restrictive quality is essential to Binah's function. The Great Mother is in charge of Atonement. This isn't about punishment, but about restoration. Atonement is the process of re-establishing our understanding of who we truly are as eternal souls, distinct from the transient and chaotic ego. Atonement is the awareness of our oneness with all creation. The mother works through atonement by sifting and discerning. As the soul awakens, the Saturn energy of Binah sieves things out on a spiritual level. Binah says yes to what agrees with the truth of our soul and no to what doesn't. That is judgment. Not judgment as in some wrathful god coming to smite you. This is a loving and necessary judgment. She is the sphere of Understanding. She understands who we are; therefore, only she can understand what aligns with our soul and what doesn't. We want her rigidity. If we are to make spiritual advancement, we do not want laissez-faire indulgence . We want an unbending judgment to identify what is true and what is not. We want only the soul to ascend and for all else: our insecurities, our illusory beliefs, our ego-created nightmares to fall away into the void. The void here is not a place of punishment, but rather a reversion to innate nothingness. It is the dissolving of that which never truly was. Binah's Saturnian structure allows for this intense spiritual sorting to take place within a rigid container. Grace as a Restrictive, Healing Force The power of Binah is also the source of divine grace. We often think of grace as a soft, unconditional outpouring of love. While it is unconditionally loving, the grace of the Great Mother is also powerfully focused, and this is its strength. Think about how a mother loves her child. It is unconditional, but it is also very concentrated and protective. The love of a mother is limited to ONLY perceiving the truth of her child. No matter what errors they make or how they try to appear on the outside, the Mother sees through it all. Errors don't faze her. Her love penetrates to the very soul of her child. That is how the flow of divine grace from Binah is. It is limited to correcting, to uplifting, to exposing what is true. This grace does not indulge more error; it eradicates it. The Great Mother is sometimes called the "untangler of knots." She possesses the power to undo the consequences of any error and resolve any confusion because her vision is perfectly clear. Armed with the restrictive power of Saturn, she discerns only the truth. Anything that is not true is simply cast away, returning to the nothingness from which it arose. When we work with Binah—whether we call it the Goddess, Shekinah , the Holy Spirit, or the Universal Mother—we place ourselves in the path of this potent, purifying grace. We give our permission for the consequences of past errors to be undone. We allow everything that is not true about us to be dissolved, so we may return to our rightful place as radiant souls. Your Inner Connection to Binah The Tree of Life is not only a map of the cosmos. It is a map of YOU. Each sphere reflects an aspect of YOUR consciousness. Binah, the Great Mother, mirrors that aspect of you that is aligned with the limitless source of ALL understanding. It is your ability to filter through the chaos of life and KNOW what is true, and what is not. This is the strength of your inner Saturn, your own ability to use form, discipline, and judgment. It is that silent, wise knowing that allows you to unwaveringly know your truth, to make decisions, and stand by what you know is right for your own soul. We are all striving for this Atonement as we walk our paths. To be at one with who we truly are. We find this through Binah. This is where our "veils" are removed from the truth of who we are. It is a process of restoration, in the hands of One who is love and truth personified. When you are drowning in confusion or pulled under by your past, remember the Great Mother. Remember that her Understanding is within you. Remember that understanding is built into the universe. YHVH Elohim means "God exists as the gods." There are many aspects of God, and one of them is the Mother's love. The mother that nurtures us, organizes us, and redeems us. Connecting with the Infinite Through the Divine Names Engaging with divine names offers a powerful way to nurture your connection to the Infinite. For many, calling upon a deity, spirit, or angel becomes a channel for embodying specific divine qualities, all of which reflect a greater unity. It is crucial to see these forces as interconnected rather than isolated or in opposition. The idea of a conflict of powers, like God versus Satan, creates unnecessary separation. A more powerful view recognizes that all powers come from a single source, one that connects us all. Just as a prism transforms light into a spectrum of vibrant colors, the divine reveals itself through countless expressions. These are not separate forces, but rather manifestations of one unified source. Dion Fortune articulated this truth with elegance: “All Gods are one.” In some magical traditions, angelic systems are used to represent the divine qualities, assigning celestial beings as guardians of these attributes. Among these systems, one highlights eight teaching angels, each associated with a primary divine quality. Here are the eight sacred divine names, along with the archangels assigned to embody and guide each principle. Life: Governed by Michael, the archangel of the Sun, embodying vitality and divine energy. Soul: Overseen by Gabriel, the archangel of the Moon, representing emotion and spiritual connection. Spirit: Guided by Samael, the archangel of Mars, symbolizing strength and willpower. Intelligence: Entrusted to Raphael, the archangel of Mercury, embodying wisdom and communication. The divine is unity, perfection, and harmony. The notion of a "war in heaven" is simply the creation of an illusion—an idea of disharmony that does not align with the Infinite’s Will. Embracing Divine Principles: The Illusion of Opposition and the Power of Love Understanding divine names as qualities helps us recognize the inherent harmony and unity of the Infinite, dissolving the illusion of conflict and reaffirming the perfection of the Infinite. These divine names names represent principles that are infinite and without opposition. For example, love has no opposite. While you may think hate is its opposite, hate is not its own principle but rather the absence or shadowing of love. Similarly, truth has no actual opposite; lies are simply distortions or denials of truth. The notion of opposing forces, such as good and evil, arises from the ego’s habit of seeing the world through the lens of duality. In truth, there is no actual conflict—only the Infinite expressions of the divine; what we perceive as opposition is merely a shadow. This temporary obstruction conceals the full brilliance of a sacred quality. Darkness, for example, is not an independent force but simply the absence of light, created when something blocks or turns away from that light. Similarly, emotions like fear and hate are not true opposites of love or peace; they are the absence of these truths, a veil drawn over their presence. Yet, the moment light shines into darkness, the darkness inevitably disappears. It has no substance of its own, no principle to sustain it in the presence of light. In the same way, love, peace, and other divine truths have a power that their seeming negations cannot undo. They are ever-present, waiting to be revealed once the obstructions are lifted. This understanding shifts the focus away from battles between opposites and toward the illumination of what has always been there, unchanging and eternal. This understanding reflects the nature of our reality. Night doesn’t mean the sun has stopped shining—it simply means the earth has turned away from it. In the same way, when we experience emotions like anger, fear, or despair, it’s because we’ve temporarily turned away from principles like love, truth, or intelligence. These divine qualities remain constant, always available for us to embrace when we choose to return to them. For instance, regardless of the situation, we can choose love over resentment or truth over deception. Understanding divine names as infinite principles allows us to connect with their power and unity, guiding us to live in harmony with the sacred. No rule dictates withholding love from others, even in the face of harm. It is possible to safeguard your physical and mental well-being without closing your heart. Love remains ever-present—a constant, enduring choice. This does not mean ignoring emotions like anger or resentment, but serves as a gentle reminder that love, steadfast and unwavering, is always within reach. The same holds for all divine principles, waiting to be embraced. The Divine Names are Eternal Take the principle of life: when someone passes away, life itself doesn’t stop. It may feel that way because the body has ceased to function, but life as a universal force continues. Many who’ve lost loved ones have felt their presence more strongly in the moment of passing than when they were physically present. This underscores that life is not limited by the physical—it persists beyond what we perceive. The principle of truth works the same way. If someone lies, it doesn’t mean truth ceases to exist. The truth remains constant, even if it’s ignored or distorted. Someone turning away from the truth doesn’t alter its reality. No amount of insistence that "2 + 2 = 12" will ever make it accurate. Truth is unchanging and beyond manipulation, though it can be avoided or obscured. By understanding this, we can strengthen our connection to divine names and the principles they embody. These principles are ever-present and unwavering, guiding us toward greater harmony and peace. When we align ourselves with them, we open the door to their transformative power and the eternal truth they represent. Consider working with these divine forces—angels, planetary energies, and spiritual principles. For example, if you struggle with honesty or feel disconnected from truth, it doesn’t mean the principle of truth is unavailable to you. You can realign yourself by simply affirming: “I align myself with divine truth. Divine truth is the ultimate reality in my life. I call upon divine truth to reveal itself.” In today’s world, the concept of truth is often misused. Facts are essential, but they don’t always represent the whole truth. If someone uses the words “I’m being honest” or “I have to tell the truth” to hurt or criticize, they are working only with isolated facts, not the complete truth. Divine truth, in its fullness, brings freedom, clarity, and healing. It doesn’t harm or tear down; it uplifts and resolves. The whole truth goes beyond simple facts. It includes the facts but also carries compassion and understanding. If you’ve been withholding the truth or feel uneasy about sharing it, pause and align yourself with the divine principle before speaking. Ask for divine truth to reveal itself in the situation. When you approach the conversation this way, any facts you share will come through with kindness and clarity, fostering resolution rather than pain. Harnessing the Power of Divine Names for Guidance and Clarity Embracing divine names as guiding principles allows their wisdom and strength to flow through your life, bringing clarity, harmony, and deeper connections. Yet, if aligning with a divine principle feels more challenging than inspiring, it could be due to two reasons: the connection may lack genuine authenticity, or you may be undergoing a spiritual cleansing. While purification can feel temporarily unsettling, it is never a step backward. Inviting divine principles into your life with intention brings improvement in all areas of life. In moments of challenge, you can turn to the divine names for guidance and strength. Each name carries a unique resonance, aligned with different aspects of life, but even if you call upon a name that doesn’t perfectly match your situation, it will still lead you to the place that's best for you. The path may not always be linear, but the names of God are ever-present, offering healing, support, and protection along the way. When honesty wavers or uncertainty obscures your way, the divine names offer unwavering guidance and support—reach out to them. In every challenge, infinite Truth stands ready to emerge, illuminating the path forward. When life feels unsteady, trust in the quiet workings of divine Law. Call upon it to restore clarity and harmony, grounding you in the assurance that balance will prevail. Feeling lost or uncertain? How to Use the Divine Names for Practical Results If keeping track of planets and angels feels overwhelming, focus solely on the eight divine names (qualities) of the Infinite. Memorizing these names can help you understand which qualities to invoke in any situation. If you can’t recall them, call upon Infinite Intelligence and trust it to work through whichever quality is needed. In moments of uncertainty or fear, use these divine names to shift your focus. Acknowledge the problem, define it clearly, and then consciously pivot your thoughts. For example, say aloud, “Here’s my problem: a bill, a diagnosis, a relationship issue.” Then declare, “Now, I’m pivoting to the divine names,” and repeat them: Divine Life, Infinite Soul, Infinite Spirit, Infinite Intelligence, Divine Truth, Divine Love, Divine Law, Divine Presence. Saturate your mind with these qualities to replace worry with the Infinite’s guidance. When faced with a problem, it can be helpful to take a step back and shift your focus using a simple yet effective practice involving divine names . Here's how it works: First, address the problem directly. Define it, name it, and acknowledge it. Then, clearly state to yourself, "I’m pivoting." Turn your attention away from the issue and spend five minutes relaxing as you repeat the Divine Name or names that relate to your problem. If you’re unsure which divine name applies, go through all of them—Life, Soul, Spirit, Intelligence, Truth, Love, Law, Presence—slowly, over and over, focusing purely on the words and what they mean to you. Focus on relaxing into the names. Once the session is done, let the problem go completely. Drop it from your mind unless something specific arises that requires immediate attention. In such cases, handle the practical task, then let the matter go. Repeat this process once, twice, or even three times a day—perhaps midday and before bed. The key is to redirect your focus from the problem to the divine names, building a sense of calm and relief. Over time, you may notice a resolution naturally emerging. Whether the outcome feels ordinary or extraordinary, what matters is that the issue resolves itself. This approach is not about superstition or rigid rituals but about practical focus and trust. Some may choose to use Hebraic divine names or names from other traditions, such as Hindu deities, and that’s perfectly fine—use what feels right for you. Personally, I prefer simple English versions of the divine names. Try this method for a week, especially if you're facing a challenge that feels impossible to solve. You may be surprised how often shifting your focus creates the space needed for solutions to emerge. Learning to Pivot from Problems to Solutions The secret lies in intentionally turning your focus to the divine names, refusing to let your thoughts obscure them. When challenges arise, it often signals that the mind, perhaps influenced by external factors, has obscured a divine truth. Rather than remaining entangled in the problem, choose to redirect your attention with purpose. Fill your thoughts with divine names instead of dwelling on the difficulty. In doing so, you clear the way for the principle to flow freely, and the challenge must find resolution. Just as darkness vanishes when the light is turned on in a room, so too will clarity, peace and resolution emerge. The solution won’t come from overanalyzing or controlling every detail—it will come from redirecting your focus to divine principles. When the problem resolves, you'll have clear proof that this practice works. The only way to confirm it is by giving it an honest try. Remember, the ego thrives on unsolvable problems—that’s its trick. If something feels like it has no solution, the ego is at play. But from the perspective of the Infinite, no problem is unsolvable. So don’t label your challenges as impossible. Instead, engage in this “pivot practice.” Identify the problem clearly, acknowledge it, then consciously shift your attention to the divine names. Select a specific divine name to repeat, or move through all eight in turn—even if the practice feels mechanical at first. As you direct your focus to these divine qualities, the obstacles clouding your path can begin to clear, creating space for solutions to emerge naturally. Give this practice a try and discover how it can help you overcome challenges that once felt impossible. Mastering this formula doesn’t require perfection; its true strength lies in your intention. By practicing it, you make a bold declaration: you refuse to let doubt or limitation dictate your path. Instead, you invoke the principle itself to address the challenge, leaving room for the solution to emerge naturally. When we refer to the Lord, we’re talking about the infinite—the one power, the one source that governs everything. This idea of a singular, all-encompassing source can be both comforting and empowering, especially when facing challenges or seeking to banish negativity. When you align with this force, nothing can stand against it. There is only this power. When the Psalm says, "Give ear to my words," it’s not implying the infinite is ignoring you until you speak up. Instead, it highlights that our act of reaching out activates the infinite’s responsiveness. We have to take the first step. Many people assume that the infinite will handle everything for them without understanding that it requires us to initiate that process. Free will allows us to think and choose as we wish, and seeking help is a conscious choice we must make. If help were given without our asking, it would be intrusive—a type of attack. The Lord described in the Psalms does not force assistance upon us. Once we ask, help is available, but we also need to allow it to work through us. Sometimes, we ask for help and then immediately take matters into our own hands, not giving the help a chance to manifest. True asking requires action first, and then receptiveness. "Consider my meditation" implies this balance between calling out and being open to receive. Meditation is a passive state, one where we quiet our minds and allow what we’ve asked for to flow in. It’s a rhythm of speaking and listening, a balance of action and stillness. This duality— fire and water , positive and negative—is essential in both creation and spiritual practice. We call out, and then we listen. We take action, and then we become receptive. Both are necessary for the process to unfold. My instinct will be to reach for something greater than myself, something beyond the boundaries of my own understanding. Reach out, ask for help, and remain open to receiving it, even if it doesn’t come in the way you expect. Instead of fixating on the challenges before you or letting them consume your thoughts, shift your focus to the infinite. Let go of the need to solve everything within the limits of the physical world and instead connect with something larger. In doing so, you’ll discover a sense of peace, clarity, and strength that will guide you as you move forward. We've even come to see the infinite as a harsh force, punishing us until we somehow earn its kindness. But this couldn't be further from the truth. "Thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness, neither shall evil dwell with thee."   You don't need to go through pain or hardship to prove your worth. The infinite doesn’t will suffering for you, and your desire to banish anguish is aligned with the infinite’s desire for your peace. Let’s look deeper—at the root of the problem—and recognize that the infinite source of good does not support or sustain this struggle.  Ultimately, we must take responsibility for the fact that many of our challenges stem from our own sense of separation, our ego-driven belief in our small self rather than our unity with the Infinite. It’s about acknowledging how our entrenched thoughts and beliefs often keep problems alive and block the universe from working on our behalf.   Many of our burdens would resolve themselves if we weren’t so attached to old ideas about who we are and how the world works. Right now, let’s pause and recognize that anguish—whether caused by internal doubt or external circumstances—is not aligned with the will of the infinite.   We have the right to banish anguish and release anything that holds us back. When we let go of the belief that struggle is inevitable or necessary, we create space for freedom and healing to flow. It starts with a shift in perspective—one that aligns us with the true potential for peace and resolution. Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the Lord will abhor the bloody and deceitful man. The "bloody deceitful man that speaks leasing" represents the ego—the part of our mind that keeps us disconnected from the good we seek. But why do we have this? Simply put, it’s a habit.  I recall as a child seeing people smoke cigarettes, even though everyone knew they caused cancer and were harmful. I couldn’t understand why they didn’t just stop. Someone explained it was an addiction, but as a kid, I didn’t grasp what that meant. Years later, after becoming addicted to cigarettes myself, I finally understood: habits can be compelling.  This is how our ego works—it’s an addiction to thought patterns that make us feel separate and stuck. We hold onto these habits even once we understand they don't serve us. To change, we must consciously ask to release these patterns. "Destroy them that speak leasing" becomes a call for removing the thoughts and behaviors that keep us from the life we want. It's about letting go of what no longer belongs so we can make space for something better. But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple. This verse carries immense power, filled with profound symbols that remind us of the infinite’s boundless love and mercy. At its core, it conveys a simple yet transformative truth: the infinite desires your happiness in every way. There is no punishment, no rejection, no withholding of goodness—only an endless flow of mercy, solving what doesn’t work in your life and bringing in what does. That’s the true essence of the " multitude of mercy ." Unfortunately, many are taught to believe in a punishing force, one that demands perfection or tests us with hardship. But this couldn’t be further from the truth. Infinite love does not seek to destroy or condemn—it exists to uplift and nurture. You don’t have to earn entry into the house of God, nor do you need to wait until you’re “good enough.” The house of God is already within you. It is your sanctuary, your constant access point to divine love and guidance, available to you right now. To "worship toward thy holy temple" means turning your focus inward, asking the infinite for guidance instead of getting caught up in fears, worries, or the opinions of others. Are you consumed by what someone said about you? Stuck in frustration over a problem? That’s not worship—it’s fixation on things that won’t serve you. Instead, pause and ask: Where should I go? What should I do? What should I focus on? By listening to your inner Guide, you redirect your energy toward peace and purpose. This is how you banish anguish and replace it with clarity and joy. Moment by moment, the infinite guides you to align with your true function: to be happy, to receive endless mercy, and to live in the fullness of divine blessings. The path is simple—turn inward, seek guidance, and trust in the abundance that is waiting for you. Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. The enemies mentioned here represent the challenges or problems you're trying to overcome. Whatever issue you’ve come to address, the Psalm guides you to seek clarity and direction. "Lead me in thy righteousness because of mine enemies" can be understood as asking for guidance to navigate the difficulties you're facing—acknowledging that your current efforts to solve the problem haven’t worked.  If worrying or trying to fix it on your own were enough, the issue would already be resolved. This is a call to let go of ineffective methods and instead trust in a higher wisdom to show you the way. “Make thy way straight before my face” is a request for clear, step-by-step guidance . It’s about being led to where you need to be—toward solutions, happiness, and peace. The Psalm reinforces trust in a higher power that wants to lead you not toward struggle but toward joy, comfort, and "a multitude of mercies." This path is not about proving worth but about embracing the possibility of a better, more fulfilling outcome. For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue. We need to stop trying to make sense of problems that only drag us deeper into confusion and frustration. Trying to analyze or fix everything ourselves can often lead to more anguish, not less. I once worked with a psych tech who shared an important lesson when dealing with severe mental illness: stop trying to figure it out. The more these health professionals tried to make sense of the behavior, the more they felt it pulling them in, even mirroring the same symptoms. Instead, they learned to let it be, and not try to "make sense of insanity." This approach applies here too. Problems are not meant to be solved through endless analysis or overthinking. Trying to "figure it out" can feel like a trap, pulling you further into despair. Remember, this is the way of exhaustion, not resolution. Instead of letting the problem call you back with its tempting whispers of "try this" or "fix it that way," choose to stop listening altogether. Banish anguish by releasing the need to solve what feels unsolvable. Trust in something greater, something infinite, to guide you. Let go, and let clarity and peace come in their own time. Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee. Let the problem resolve itself; let negativity destroy itself. It always collapses under its own weight. Problems don’t have life force of their own—they’re not aligned with the will of the infinite. The only way a problem can survive is if we keep it alive by feeding it energy. we're done doing that. We're not giving it CPR anymore. Problems, in their nature, are transgressions against the infinite, and since I’m one with the infinite, they’re also transgressions against me. When I see myself as separate from the infinite, I mistakenly believe in the illusion of that separation. But in reality, the infinite knows we are not separate. It knows I don’t need this problem. The infinite is aware that I have not only the right but also the ability to let go of this problem and heal. The problem doesn’t belong to me, and it doesn’t belong in my life. It’s time to release it. But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. Let all those thoughts—because that’s what we’re really talking about here, our thoughts—put their trust in the infinite. I’m no longer going to waste my energy or my thoughts on the problem. I’m done wasting my mental resources on a road that leads nowhere, a road that only results in pain and suffering. I’m not doing that anymore. Instead, let my thoughts rejoice, because the infinite defends them. When it says the infinite defends you, it means the infinite already knows this problem isn’t real. The infinite knows this isn’t something you need to go through. The infinite already knows you are, in essence, healed. This problem is already resolved, but until you’re ready to let it go, the infinite can’t fully help you. This is really an exercise in detaching from the problem completely and letting it fade away. So where should your mind go instead? Turn it toward the infinite. That’s the best use of your mind—focusing on the infinite. Let your thoughts rejoice in that, because the infinite is always there for you. Let those who love the infinite’s name be joyful in it. What does it mean to focus on the names of the infinite? It means focusing on its qualities. Infinite life, infinite soul, infinite spirit, infinite intelligence, infinite truth, infinite love, infinite law, infinite presence—these are all names of the infinite. When you think of these qualities, you’re reminding yourself that you’re not separate from the infinite or from those qualities. You can think of them clearly and let your mind dwell on what they mean. “Let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.” You find joy in the infinite by thinking about it—using your mind to focus on the qualities of the divine. This is productive and meaningful and will help guide you to peace. For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. You are righteous. You were created righteous, and nothing can take that away. The only parts of you that aren’t righteous are the things that aren’t real—the doubts, fears, or negativity you’ve given life to. These are the things you can release. Whatever you're trying to banish, it can fall away when you stop feeding it your energy. Righteousness means right thinking, being aligned with the truth of who you are. You are already one with the infinite, and deep down, you know it. Anything that doesn’t reflect that truth can be let go. Be clear, focus only on the truth: you were made perfect. You can’t unmake your perfection or your righteousness, no matter what anyone has told you. If someone once told you otherwise, it wasn’t the truth of the infinite—it was human error. The truth is, you were created perfect and remain perfect. While you can’t make yourself unrighteous, you can be tricked into thinking you are. Society has conditioned us to believe in imperfection, to think separate from the infinite. But here’s the good news: you can free yourself from that false thinking. Let go of the belief in imperfection and turn your focus back to the infinite. You have nothing to fear. Fear only exists in the parts of you that aren’t real. Your problems? They’re illusions. From the infinite perspective, those problems never truly existed. When you shift your focus to the truth, the truth then reveals itself in your reality, thanks to divine law. To banish anguish, you must shift your focus. Stop feeding energy to what you fear or what troubles you. Turn your thoughts toward the infinite and let its truth guide your experience. Let go, and the truth will make itself known. While learning from an experienced instructor can enhance your results, following a book or video can still yield benefits—just not as effectively. The same applies to weightlifting: working with a trainer ensures optimal progress, but creating your own routine can also be effective. There’s no such thing as “fitness police,” just as there’s no “witch police.” However, informed choices and proven techniques often lead to better outcomes. Your magical practice is uniquely yours—free from rigid rules or external authorities dictating your approach. While social media, forums, books, or videos may claim there’s a “right” way, the truth is this: your relationship to the Craft is for you to define. What matters most is finding methods that align with your intentions and create meaningful results.   Cultivating an Effective Magical Practice I’m often asked questions like, “Can I do this?” or “Is that allowed?” My answer is always the same: you can choose to do whatever you want to do. But it’s worth trying both ways to observe the difference. Grounding connects your energy to the earth, balances your internal forces, and helps you work from a clear, focused state. Skipping it isn’t “wrong,” but comparing results with and without grounding will show you its value.   The same goes for spirit guide meditations. In my practice, connecting with a deeper, wiser part of myself brings clarity and insights that surface-level thinking can’t provide. Sometimes this connection appears as a spirit guide, but it can take any form that feels meaningful to you. These moments of connection often provide guidance that elevates your magical practice to new levels.   Ultimately, your magical practice is about what works for you . Your magical practice is as flexible and personal as you make it—so embrace the freedom to shape it your way.   When we stop idolizing teachers, celebrities, and authors—appreciating their expertise without allowing it to overshadow our own inner wisdom—our craft flourishes, we free ourselves from the need to conform to predefined expectations, rejecting arbitrary labels and limitations. The internet often lays bare the workings of the ego, showing how trends emerge, dominate, and fade. Stepping away from the endless chase of these trends liberates us from the belief that we’ll never truly master our magical practice. That persistent feeling of inadequacy—the constant “I should be doing this, I should be doing that”—is nothing more than the voice of the so-called “witch police,” aimed at undermining your confidence to elevate their own authority. Instead, trust your own path. Focus on the foundational principles of magic, understanding that techniques and aesthetics will naturally evolve—sometimes daily, weekly, or even yearly. My practice today is vastly different from what it was 20 years ago, and it will continue to grow and transform. While methods may shift, the core principles remain constant. If you listen to my old lectures from the 1980s, you’ll find my tone, examples, and even delivery may have changed, but the fundamental truths at the heart of my work have stayed the same. When you're exploring the world of witchcraft, don't let anyone intimidate you or make you feel unworthy. You don't need to know everything—nobody can. This means the quickest you could complete a degree is 150 days. However, I believe that the pace is too fast. I recommend allowing at least a year for each degree, with a minimum time frame of six months. Keep a journal of the Psalms you've used to track your progress and see which ones you still have to complete. Once you've applied the Psalm Magic formula to all 150 Psalms, addressing the life situations that came up during that period, you will have earned the rank of first-degree initiate. Money is often an abstraction to us. We think of it as numbers on a piece of paper we stash in our wallets, or as digits on a screen. However, if we quiet down the chatter of the physical world and see with the inner eye, we will know that money and abundance have a frequency, a vibration, an energy, and that this energy is fluid. It flows like a river, sometimes rapidly and furiously as a roaring rapids, other times slowly and gently as a smooth-moving meander. To change our financial circumstances , we must raise our frequency to match that of the river of abundance. By performing simple rituals, we create a bridge between our circumstances and our subconscious mind. This abundance spell is a simple way to communicate with the powerful part of ourselves that understands only symbols. It is our deep mind that can create a conduit for attracting what we desire into our lives, a beacon, if you will, to call the universe to bestow its blessings upon us. In this guide, I will show you a simple yet powerful abundance spell to expand the flow of money and abundance in your life. Grounded in the rich symbolism of the New Moon, that sacred moment of new beginnings, you can open the windows of your spirit to prosperity and let it fill the air you breathe. The Season of Magic: Why the New Moon? When planning and manifesting for financial abundance on earth, why do we take our cues from the night sky? Because the macrocosm is reflected in the microcosm. The Dark Moon symbolizes the womb of potential—the dark, rich soil where the seed of an intention is planted and begins its first whisper of growth toward the light. This is a time of potential. The Dark Moon phase is not a void of activity. It is a place of latent possibility. We cast our abundance spell as the moon is waxing, at the New Moon, just as the first thin crescent of light is seen to slice the blackness of night. Over the coming weeks, as the moon waxes and becomes brighter in the night sky, so shall your intention grow in power. By holding your desire to heal financially at this time, you are aligning your will with the prana of the cosmos, drawing it in and through you in greater measure to expand and amplify your resources in perfect alignment with the cycle of the moon. Collecting Your Ritual Tools  Effective magic is ultimately gentle and straightforward. There’s no need to seek out rare substances or memorize long, complicated invocations. A few easily obtained items are all that is required. You will need the following items for this abundance spell: Florida Water:  This is a standard bearer of traditional cologne , has been around for centuries, and is often used in the spiritual toolkit for cleansing and uplifting energy. Florida Water's spicy, floral, and peppery citrus notes cut through the miasma of heavy energies, making room for clear, new, positive energy to come in. This cologne is usually inexpensive, which is helpful, as you do need to use quite a bit in this abundance spell. If you can’t find Florida Water , any citrus-based eau de cologne, such as 4711,  will also do nicely. In a pinch, you could even mix a citrus essential oil with rubbing alcohol and use that mixture. It won't smell as nice, but it will get the job done. Seven Coins:  Take seven coins of any denomination in your country's currency. The number seven is significant and influential, being the number of upgrade and completion. In Qabalah, it is associated with Venus and its archangel, Anael, who blesses us with “I have”. It is also associated with Libra, whose watchword is “I balance”. Even if these two signs aren’t in your birth chart, they are invoked within you by working with the number seven to bring in new, positive change in your financial situation. A Container:  Look for a small bowl, dish, lid, or other small vessel to hold your coins and some Florida water. This represents the womb of your abundance spell. Make sure your container is small enough to fit in the circle of the talisman you will make. Paper and Pencil:  You’ll need these to draw a simple talisman to charge your container. Once you've collected these items, you’ll be ready to cast your spell and open yourself to the abundance waiting for you! The Abundance Spell Instructions  As you perform this ritual, remember to breathe. This is a form of active meditation. Go slowly and with purpose, and be mindful of your actions. 1. The Talisman  Begin with your paper. Draw a large circle in the center of the page. The circle should be large enough to accommodate your vessel when you set it on top of the paper. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but if you wish, use a stencil or a compass to create it. The circle, in magic, represents perfection, unity, wholeness, the womb of creation and the cycle of return. The circle is a container. It gives the abundance spell a place of focus to build energy within. 2. The Quarters  In each of the four “quarters” outside the circle you have drawn (corresponding to North, South, East, and West), draw the currency symbol of your country. For example, if you live in the United States, draw a dollar sign ($) in each quarter. This will open a flow of the energy of financial current moving outward from your center into the universe and inward from all four directions of the earth toward your center. 3. The Vessel  Place your vessel into the center of the circle, directly on the paper. This container represents the power of receptivity. As the Universe rains down blessings upon you, you have created a vessel with which to receive them. Just as we cannot catch the rain without a container, we cannot catch our financial blessings without a vessel. Of course, the real vessel is within you, and this simply symbolizes that. 4. The Coins  Drop the seven coins into the dish. As you do this, run your fingers over the metal, acknowledging each one as a seed of what you have now, being planted as future wealth. Feel each coin as a fertile seed of immense opulence. 5. The Anointing  Pour some Florida Water over the coins until they are covered. As you do this, watch the water cascade over the coins. Acknowledge the alchemical process that is beginning. The water is activating the latent, but currently dormant, energy within your mind to bring you increased financial abundance. As you breathe in the sharp, sweet, spicy notes rising from the glass, know you are breathing in the spirit of the abundance spell. 6. Conjuration: Feel the Flow  With your physical tools created and in place, you are ready to begin your spiritual work. Sit quietly before your creation. Close your eyes and turn your attention inward. Visualize the tide of your financial prosperity rising. Don’t get hung up on the “how” or the “when.” Just sit with the feeling of having. When we allow ourselves to feel the joy of a desire fulfilled, the Universe conspires to move us from a state of want to a state of assumption. Sink down into a quiet, humming joy around the thing or things you want to manifest. Relax into this feeling. See oceans of resources all around you, floating particles of gold spinning in a sunbeam. Perhaps you see all denominations of bills floating gently down from the sky, piling up in drifts around your feet like autumn leaves. Maybe you receive an image of a successful business, or perhaps you feel a deep, abiding sense of peace—a knowing that all is well in your financial world, that all is taken care of, that the Universe is conspiring in your favor. Growing and Tending The Thoughtform Once you have finished your quiet time with your desire, find a spot for your altar—you know, the paper, dish, and submerged coins—something private, like a high shelf, a tucked-away cabinet, or even the back of a closet. This place must remain undisturbed, acting as a quiet guardian angel working behind the scenes to bring you prosperity. Let the Florida Water fill the room with its scent. There’s something genuinely magical when the alcohol and fragrance evaporate into the surroundings, creating a mystical sense of wonder. As the aroma of the Florida Water spreads throughout your home or office, it begins to shift the energy of your space, opening it up to welcome in abundance. Keep in mind, since Florida Water is alcohol-based, it will evaporate rather quickly. This evaporation is significant; it helps you build your thoughtform. As it turns from liquid to vapor, your spell becomes more active.  Feed your abundance spell regularly. Check on your container daily. If the liquid isn’t covering the coins, add more Florida Water. This is how you “feed” the spell, keeping the energy growing. Each time you return and “feed” it, you create a stronger thought form that continues to grow until you finally release it. Feel the power intensify and condense each day as the cologne continues to evaporate. Completing the Abundance Spell  You can continue feeding your spell for as long as you like, up until the next full moon, which is the last day you should continue the abundance spell. You may only want to work the magic for a few days, or perhaps you will work it for the entire waxing cycle, which ends on the Full moon. You might even just continue until you get an inner sense that it’s enough.  When you wish to end your spell, pour any remaining alcohol off the coins. Put the cologne you have poured off in another container and leave it out to finish evaporating completely.  You will notice that during the course of the abundance spell, the original dish and coins will be covered in a fragrant “gunk.” This is the cologne's residue after the alcohol has evaporated. Wash the seven coins. Scrub them thoroughly. Polish them until they shine. As you clean the coins with soap and warm water, remember that you are also casting a powerful final act of magic. The “gunk” you scrub off represents the stagnation and stuckness that have been holding you back. It symbolizes the old stories you’ve been telling yourself about money. It reflects your limiting beliefs about wealth. It is dead energy. Let it wash down the sink.  The coins are now sparkly-clean and renewed. Save them to use in another abundance spell in the future, or give them away; they have served their purpose. Wash out the containers you used to hold the evaporating Florida Water and use them in future spells as well. Let The Magic Happen Prosperity does not need to be pursued relentlessly. Prosperity is a flowing river from which we may collect as much abundance as we require. When you prepare yourself to receive more wealth (through this abundance spell or other methods), you are simply going to the riverbank and filling up your vessel with as much as you need. We should always be careful not to become superstitious about the tools and rituals of magical work, such as the Florida Water, coins, or talisman. The spell items are simply tools that facilitate communication between your conscious mind and the deeper, oceanic mind that connects us all to the Source of All. Just as paints aren’t art by themselves, spells are not magic on their own. You are the magic. Blessed be!

You wake up in the morning and look in the mirror as you get ready for the day. You brush your hair, fix your collar, and then step back. You don’t reach into the glass to fix your hair or straighten your collar. You know the mirror is a reflection. A flat, two-dimensional image of the three-dimensional reality on your side of the glass. If you want things to be different in the mirror, the changes must come from you and not from the image. This mundane, ordinary activity is a key to understanding a powerful, often misunderstood secret of our existence: the mirror of reality . It has been claimed by some that our objective three-dimensional world, the very substance of space and time in which we live, is a mirror of sorts. What we project into this screen of space and time is reflected back to us. We then interact with this reflection as if it were the causal reality. The reflection, unlike a two-dimensional glass mirror, is 3D, solid, and seems very real. We can go “through” it and “feel” it, and its effects appear to have the solidity of fact. Our entire immersive sensory environment is this way. Our world is a carefully constructed illusion , yes, but it is an intelligent, learned, and most useful illusion. We train ourselves from birth to take it all for granted. Our eyes interpret various frequencies of light as color. All our senses join together to create our world, but we are trained from a very early age to experience what is outside of us as not “us.” We believe what happens out there is somehow separate and immensely more powerful than our internal world. We are “happy” when the world is good, “sad” when it is not, and we learn to work a series of complex, transactional steps to try and “make” the illusion work for us. Today, we will take a different approach. We will look at the world in a different way. We will see that the world is not an enemy to be battled and manipulated with anger and malice. We will see that what we call the world is a direct reflection of what we project onto it. We will see that this illusion is as unreal as a mirror reflection, and once we reclaim our power as creators, we can change the world in our image. We will talk about thought forms, the vital nature of faith in the face of our own senses, and most of all, the simple, powerful steps you can take to begin consciously building the reflection you see in the Mirror of Reality. It is time to stop trying to reach into the mirror and learn to adjust the source: you. Seeing Through the Veil of the Mirror of Reality If we wish to change the world in accordance with our will (i.e., "magic"), we must first fundamentally change our perception of the world. This process begins with a deep and abiding realization of the world's unreality. If you cannot look at all of the “fixed” objects and circumstances in your life and know that they are not what they appear to be, you will never be able to take yourself out of the position of a character in a pre-written drama, being buffeted about by circumstances of which you are only dimly aware. The only way to move past this is to recognize the inherent unreality of the world we have all come to believe is real. We must learn to see through the veil of sensory distortion in which we are enmeshed. Take, for example, a table. You see a table. You “know” that it is a table, that it is solid, and that it has a certain usefulness to be found in the employment of its solidity. You have spent your entire life gathering information and understanding about tables. You don’t question that this is a table because the sensory information being gathered by your eyes and your touch receptors lines up exactly with all of the information that you have stored in your subconscious about what tables are and what they do. But what IS this table, really? If you could remove the veil of your senses, you would realize that what you call a table is not a hard, permanent object at all, but instead an entire universe of energetic activity and interplay all at the subatomic level. You would “see” that it is nothing more than a dance of atoms, all spinning particles of subatomic energy, spiraling in space at inconceivable speeds, giving the appearance of form and solidity to a blur of light and movement so rapid that our eyes have only created the label “solidity” to understand it and your senses report the sensory experience back to the programming in your mind which says “table.” But strip away the veil of your sensory perceptions, and suddenly that solidity is not there at all. It is a dance of light, energy, and color, which we have only given a name to in order to understand it and give it meaning in our lives. Remove that veil, and it is gone.  This is true of everything you see on the screen of space. The bad job, the wrong relationship, the empty bank account, the crumbling house, the imperfect body, the uncertain future are all mere energetic appearances, illusions so pervasive that the mind believes them to be solid and unchangeable and is incredulous at the mere suggestion that this is not the case. When we look out at the screen and understand that nothing is as it appears, we have gained an extreme position of power. We can begin to change things into the way we would like them to be. As long as we are fooled by the projection on the screen, we cannot move. We try to change the world by reaching into the mirror to fix our hair, and we become infinitely frustrated when our hand slaps back at us on the cold glass. The first realization is that the mirror of reality is merely a reflection: things are only the way they seem, not necessarily the way they are. The minute you perceive this, you can turn your attention inward. You can begin to understand how the mind works, how the universe functions, and how to create the thought forms that will project a different, more pleasing reflection onto the screen of space. Using Thought Forms to Create Your New Reality The acceptance of the mirror of reality is the key that unlocks the door of conscious creation. If the world outside is a reflection, the source of that reflection must be inside. The source of all creation is consciousness, and its tools are called thought forms. A thought form is a specific, focused, energized idea housed in the mind with faith and feeling. A thought form is the blueprint that consciousness projects onto the screen of space, which then takes physical form. We are constantly creating thought forms, usually unconsciously. Our worries, fears, judgments, and assumptions are powerful thought forms that faithfully manifest as life circumstances. To create consciously, we must learn to build the thought forms that represent what we want, while systematically dissolving those that represent what we do not. This is not the passive act of making a wish; it is a very active and focused process of magical construction and deconstruction. You are not asking a favor of some external power; you are learning to master the basic machinery of the cosmos. This is a practice that requires concentrated effort, and above all else, faith. The Witches’ Pyramid is built on Faith, Imagination, Will, and Secrecy. Why is faith so important? Because when you are in the process of building a new thought form, your five senses will continue to report the reality of the old one. The mirror will continue to reflect the reality you wish to change. Faith is the ability to look beyond the evidence of your senses. It is the deep, inner knowing that says, “No, that is just an echo, an old reflection, based on a thought form that I no longer empower. My new reality is what is real.”  This is the crucible of creation. You are holding the thought form of your desire—health, abundance, love, etc.—and the mirror of the world is reflecting sickness, lack, or loneliness. If you allow the outer reflection to deflate you, to fill you with doubt and disappointment, the new thought form will not survive. You cannot have two contradictory realities in the same place at the same time. Your doubt and frustration create their own powerful thought form that only strengthens the reality you are trying to change. Reciting affirmations or incantations is meaningless if you are vibrating in a state of emotional defeat underneath it all. These tools are there only to help you build, empower, and sustain a new thought form. If you are constantly knocked down by what you see “out there,” you are cutting the legs out from under your own creation. For this reason, the work requires a temporary suspension of belief in the objective world, at least while you are in the process of your magical practice. Let your five senses report what they will. You must know, beyond the disproof of your senses, that your new thought form is the new dominant reality. It is actively at work, even as you do not see it, to replace the old reflection. It will succeed to the exact degree that you have faith in it and stop believing in the appearances of the old one. Working Within Your Sphere of Influence The above process of having faith despite all available evidence is incredibly difficult. It requires a great deal of inner fortitude to face a challenging situation and say, “You are not real. What is real is on its way.” Most of us have a limit to our faith. We hit an invisible ceiling where the desired outcome becomes too big, too implausible, to really believe in. That ceiling is the limit of your sphere of influence at any given time. Attempting to manifest something far beyond your current sphere of influence is a path to frustration. If the end result is completely unbelievable to you, you will not be able to muster up the required amount of faith to create it. This is not to say that your desires are wrong or misguided. It is simply to say that your faith “muscle” is not developed enough. If you push too hard against the limit of your current sphere of influence, you are likely to suffer a disappointment that can erode your general sense of faith in your magic. The solution is to start where you are. Operate within your current sphere of influence and work to expand it step by step. Think of it as a form of weight training. You do not go to the gym for the first time and attempt to lift 500 pounds. You choose a weight that is just heavy enough to build muscle but not so heavy that it's impossible to lift. With every successful repetition, you grow stronger and more confident, building up to that next weight. Magical practice is no different.  Focus on racking up successes. Set your goals slightly beyond where you are now, but still within the zone of what you can conceive as possible. Say you desire to increase your income. If you make $50,000 a year now, $500,000 may sound completely ridiculous. Can you believe in $60,000? Can you create real faith for that? It is a reasonable stretch. A big one, but a reasonable one. You are allowed to want that. But it is up to you to manifest and maintain the thought form of “60,000 or more” long enough for that seed to germinate and grow, without being strangled by the weeds of your current experience. As you achieve success with these more reachable goals, you build a body of evidence. You create a reservoir of success that you can tap into for the next, more challenging effort. Your sphere of influence begins to expand, and the impossible slowly becomes believable. This is when the mirror of reality starts to reflect what you desire. A Technique for Stepping into the Desired Reality If you want a very effective technique for building faith and stepping into your new reality, try this exercise. Think of a desire you have. Find something that is on the outer reaches of your sphere of influence but which doesn’t quite feel like a slam dunk for you. Get a good feel for what it would be like to have that desire fulfilled. Now, look backwards. Think about your life so far and find a piece of it that you are already successful in. Find something that used to be a problem, or a struggle, or a pain point for you, but which is now easy and normal. Find a skill you have learned, an old fear you have overcome, a goal you have achieved, or a negative habit you have transformed. Remember how you used to be, and then feel the satisfaction of how you are now. Really connect to the feeling of that accomplishment and growth. Acknowledge to yourself that you are more successful in this area of your life than you used to be. Now, while that feeling of successful transformation is fresh in your mind, turn your attention back to your current desire. The one that is still a stretch for you. Now, create the same “before and after” framework for your new goal. Talk to yourself as though the goal has already been achieved. Say things to yourself like, “I remember when making this new income was such a huge stretch for me, and now it’s just my normal reality. It’s so easy now.”  This technique allows you to reframe your goal, not as a future uncertainty, but as a past success. You are essentially borrowing the feeling of accomplishment from a known victory and applying it to your current goal. You are stepping into the experience of the manifest spell. You are feeling what it feels like after the struggle is over, and the goal is just your normal life. It is one of the most powerful ways to “visualize” that I know, because it circumvents the feeling of wanting and vaults you straight into the feeling of having. If you are having trouble finding anything in your life that is better than it used to be, that is where you need to start working. You need to rack up some small successes before you can go after bigger goals. Pull way back. Start casting spells for smaller goals that are just a little bit of a stretch. The point is to create the pattern of success. To build faith in yourself that your magic works. Once you have a few of these wins under your belt, you can use them as fuel for the bigger goals that seem out of reach for you right now. Time and Detachment  Detachment requires a completely different relationship to time. When you create a new thought form, a separate part of your mind immediately starts nagging, “Is it here yet? How long will it take? Why is it taking so long?” This is the venom that kills the creative process. This negative inner dialogue continually reinforces the thought form of “not having” because you only ask “how long” for things you are waiting for. It creates a hostile relationship with time itself, imbuing it with dread and defining it as a record of your failure. Time, like space, is a construct of the three-dimensional illusion. It is part of the mirror of reality. When you project impatience, doubt, and frustration onto the concept of time, the mirror faithfully reflects that back to you. Time becomes your enemy, a yawning gulf that stretches on and on. The only way to collapse time and speed up your manifestation is to remove your anxious, micro-focused attention from it. You must become utterly unconcerned with how quickly or slowly things are happening. When the screen of space is not yet reflecting your new reality, it must not bother you. When you look around, and all you see are the old, unwanted circumstances, don’t give them your energy. Do not fight with them, complain about them, or analyze them. To do so is to feed them, to reinforce their existence. Instead, withdraw your attention and return to the inner experience of your fulfilled desire. Remind yourself how fabulous it is that this new reality is manifesting, how uncanny it is that success comes so easily to you now, just like it did in other areas of your life. The best thing you can do after casting a spell is to forget about it. Release it . Trust that the thought form is doing its work, and get busy with something else you love. Immerse yourself in a project, a hobby, or time with loved ones. Taking your mind completely off the “how” and “when” is an act of supreme faith. It tells the universe that you are so certain of the outcome that you don’t need to micromanage it. This detachment allows the manifestation to unfold along the path of least resistance. Time ceases to be your master and becomes your servant, collapsing and rearranging itself to bring your desire into being with startling speed. Working a New Belief  Just like any other creative skill, you need to practice regularly to improve. Whether learning an instrument, increasing physical strength, or developing magical abilities, consistent effort is essential. This type of skill is built through daily repetition. The important thing to remember is that practice doesn’t make perfect— perfect practice makes perfect. If you practice scales incorrectly every day, all you're doing is learning to play mistakes very well. Magic, too, is not just about practicing ritual steps or fine-tuning spellcraft. Your daily work must involve an attunement to the world around you. If you practice magic through the filter of “me against the world”, that is the feeling you will continue to experience. You must work to see the world as it truly is: a mirror. Your spells are not guns to blast through reality and change it by force. They are the mechanism by which you select your new desired illusion. When your sense of well-being is no longer tied to your current situation, when you can observe the mirror of reality without any opinion one way or the other, it all becomes easy . If you are mentally critiquing the world for not yet having delivered your heart’s desire, then your primary thought form is negative criticism. You are working against your own creation. But when you let go of your opinion, when you can allow the reflection to be as it is without any emotional response, you remove all resistance to your new reality. It will be a matter of moments before you are rewarded, because there is nothing left to oppose it. Take some time today to go through your life. Consciously look for everything that is better than it used to be, no matter how small or trivial it seems. The very act of searching will begin to retrain your mind to see evidence of your magical power. Your past successes are gold. They are proof-of-concept examples you can use to reinforce your new reality, viewing your current desire as simply the next logical step in a series of magical triumphs. Once you stop judging the external world and understand that the mirror of reality can just as easily reflect your desires as anything else, things will happen very fast. You are no longer trying to fix your hair by reaching in the mirror. You are simply brushing your hair, knowing the reflection in the mirror must be faithful. You are changing your world in the only place that it can actually be changed: in the fertile garden of your own magnificent consciousness.

All the techniques and courses I teach are designed for a student’s own benefit and self-practice, not to help others. It's magic for yourself! I do this for many reasons: ethical considerations, experiential concerns, pedagogical ones, and more. This is not to say that it’s never okay to help others through magic, but I do believe that the majority of all magic is best worked for the benefit of yourself, not others. For starters, casting spells on someone else without their explicit consent is not helping them. It is a type of attack, even if you have the best of intentions.  Imagine you come home one day to find that someone you know has been in your house while you were out. They decided to redecorate it, just a little, to their taste. They might have replaced your favourite chair with something sleeker, less comfortable but more stylish, they might have painted the walls another colour, maybe they like orange instead of your calming blue... Even if they had good intentions, even if they thought they had better taste than you did, it still would not feel good. It would feel like what it is: an intrusion into your home, into your privacy, into your right to make decisions for yourself. Your home is your sacred space, and they are defiling it. This is how casting on someone else without their permission works. Understanding the Concept of "Magical Debt" But what about using magic to help others with  their explicit permission? There are a few essential considerations to keep in mind. A person who comes to another person asking for magical help obviously believes that magic will help them in their situation. In this case, the most empowering course of action for them is to learn and practice the magic themselves. Magic is the process of interacting with energy and intention. What a person invests is what they will receive in return from magic. By empowering them to take up their own practice, you’re not only helping with their current situation but also giving them a life skill that will support them for the rest of their lives. You’re also teaching them self-sufficiency and a far more personal connection with their own power than they would get by simply having a spell worked on their behalf. From a more technical perspective, the only way to get workable, successful results when working magic for another individual is to charge them for it. Offering to work magic on their behalf for free tends to be a very sticky wicket that can create unseen, karmic debts between you. But even then, if you were to accept payment for magical work, you must be experienced and adept enough to ensure that what you're getting paid for is entirely within your ability. The Laws of magic are natural laws of balance that are always in effect. When you take money in the name of the Craft, you're agreeing to produce a desired result. If you're not able to accomplish this, the Craft will perceive it as a “short,” and you'll carry a metaphysical debt that must be repaid until the balance is restored. On the other hand, if you work magic for someone without being paid, then you're allowing them to incur a debt to you. Either way, the situation is unbalanced and can result in more problems than you might imagine. Working In The Magical Safe Zone However, when you do magic for yourself, you're always in a safe zone, and this represents ethical magic at its best. This is because working magic for and on yourself ensures your safety, and it can never, ever create a karmic or magical debt. You never have to worry about “blowback.” This is because you're utilizing the forces of Magic for their proper purpose: the betterment and evolution of the Self.  The moment you start doing magic on or for another person, you risk interfering in their destiny, which is not your concern, and this can result in adverse outcomes for both the person you're trying to help and yourself, since you probably can’t fully understand their entire journey. Keep things safe and powerful. Work on yourself. Focus your magic on yourself . Does this sound selfish? It is in the sense that you are focusing on what you are allowed to have power over, which is your own life. It is not selfish in the sense that you are thinking of yourself regardless of others' needs and well-being. But with magic, the best rule of thumb is to strictly mind your own business. A Witch's Blessing vs. Spell Casting "But can't I support other people when they need me?" Of course you can! Support can take on many forms, from words of kindness to an open ear or an act of compassion. Standing by a person can truly change their life. It’s one of the most profound ways you can show love. "But can't I bless other people who are suffering?" Of course you can! Blessings or prayers are excellent ways to send love and support to someone. Visualizing them happy, healthy, and free in every aspect of their life is an act of love. Blessing others is a powerful act that can be the catalyst for extraordinary results, yet those results are not of your making or under your control. "But can't I imagine light surrounding someone in need?" Of course you can! In this way, visualization becomes an act of blessing, a way to hold someone in your thoughts and prayers. To visualize the energy around them as uplifting, helping you telepathically soothe their struggles and support their desires. But you're not doing it as an act of will, only to support and bless them. "But can't I cast spells to benefit others?" I wouldn’t. Save your magic for yourself. Spells are acts of focused will that can produce great results in your life, for your own desires, needs, struggles, and goals. Your Craft is meant for you alone, a sacred empowerment you can use to grow, thrive, and change your own life. Blessings For Others Instead Of Spells Blessings are powerful and can make a profound difference in someone’s life. When you bless someone, you’re giving them not just good thoughts but active psychic and spiritual support and encouragement. Blessing someone is not the same thing as working magic to manipulate the circumstances of their lives. A blessing is about lifting them, and that in itself can be a huge help. The effects of a blessing may be just as substantial as those of a spell, but the perspective involved is entirely different. A blessing is always given with both support and detachment, and blessings in that way can help build a positive feedback loop of support and love. But the outcomes of your blessings are not something you can nor should try to control. There are always exceptions to rules about working magic for other people, of course. If someone close to you, a parent, a sibling, a child, a life partner, one of those special few who are a part of your inner circle, truly needs you to cast a spell for them, by all means do it. But even in that case, tread lightly. If they need further magical attention, they are still best served by learning to do it for themselves. Magic is self-empowerment and self-care. It’s you, finding ways to work your way through life in a way that makes sense to you. Healing magic, magic to bring your fondest dreams into reality, magic to protect yourself, magic to grow, empower, and transform your life, all of that is magic for you. Bless the people in your life, but save the spells for yourself. Trying to “fix” other people or the world through magic often has the opposite effect. Magic creates ripple effects; regardless of good intentions, it’s impossible to control how it will turn out. In my experience, magic aimed at fixing others or the world almost always backfires, causing more problems than it solves. Because of that, I choose not to practice magic in these ways. Saving Your Magic For Yourself So I save it for myself. I use my magic to pull myself up, to bring clarity and healing, and growth to myself. I focus on me. I tend to my garden, and I figure out how I want it to grow. If I focus my energy on myself, on nourishing my own life and my own soul, and use magic to help me along, that in itself can have a ripple effect, and it will bring about changes in other people’s lives just as strongly as if I were actually to cast spells for them. If you were a member of an orchestra, you would practice your own instrument and not interfere with other musicians' practice. This way, when you arrive at your rehearsals and performances, you will be prepared to perform your best and in harmony with all your fellow musicians. This metaphor applies to magic as well. We use our magic for ourselves so we can show up for our lives in the best possible ways. Bless others, support them, desire the best for them in your mind and in your heart, light a candle on their behalf, but save your magic for yourself. That’s where your magic is meant to thrive.
