The Indivisible Soul: How to Find Your Spiritual Flow

Updated: 5 days ago

Silhouette of a witch in a hat standing on a hill against a large full moon. The blue night sky is speckled with stars, creating a mystical mood.

Have you ever felt 'in the flow'? Maybe while singing, gardening, working on a business, knitting, or cooking dinner, you become unaware of the passage of time. You aren’t thinking about the past or worrying about the future. You’re just present, completely in the spiritual flow of something that feels timeless.

Flow is not simply a mental state or a way to be more productive. It’s a spiritual experience that helps you remember who you truly are and why you’re here, bringing you closer to Spirit.

In Angel Magic, the soul is linked to Archangel Gabriel and the Moon, which stand for reflection, deep water, and intuition. One important idea that often gets overlooked is the difference between soul and ego, and how we misunderstand what it means to be an 'individual.'

We often view an individual as someone separate from the whole. However, the word 'individual' actually signifies indivisibility, signifying that it cannot be separated. When you reveal your authentic self, you manifest a unique expression of Infinite Intelligence that exists solely through you, while still preserving a strong connection to everyone and everything. This indicates that genuine individuality is fundamentally rooted in unity.

You remain true to yourself while feeling connected to all things. When consistently in this state, you’ll gradually notice your soul's gentle voice overtaking the loud, fearful voice of your ego.

The Myth of Separation

Our world encourages us to stand out, but then punishes us for being different. This internal struggle comes from the ego, which creates the illusion that you are separate. Your ego builds walls, tries to claim its own space, and attempts to feel special by comparing itself to others. Please do not confuse this egoic behavior with your soul knowing itself as ONE.

If the ego looks at another, it sees competition. If the ego looks at itself, it sees itself as deficient. It feeds off the idea of “the other” by constantly comparing, criticizing, and judging. When you look at someone else and attack their separateness, or look in the mirror and judge your own idiosyncrasies. That’s the voice of the ego.

The ego does this because it craves the feeling of being special, but can never have it. The ego is an illusion. It's a collection of thoughts with no actual substance. The ego knows it’s not real, so it creates problems. The ego lives for throwing an endless supply of unsolvable issues your way to keep you busy.

Its biggest illusion is making you think your problems are unique. It tells you that your suffering is special. That no one else has obstacles quite like you. But if we’re being honest, many of the problems that keep us the busiest are pretty mundane. We all experience fear. We all experience doubt. We all experience loss. The ego keeps us believing we’re “special” in our pain, so we don’t see how SPECIAL we truly are. Special as souls.

There is nothing lacking in Infinite Intelligence. There is no "other” anywhere. Everything is complete and whole. You are where you are meant to be. You are unique and fulfill a sacred function. If you were removed, the universe would be incomplete. But the universe cannot be incomplete. YOU are an extension of Infinite Intelligence, meaning you are eternal. You cannot stop existing even if your body perishes. You are essential, and nothing can change that. You are perfect right here and now.

The ego perceives this as a threat and attempts to deny it. Instead of wasting time and energy allowing the ego to disturb us, we can learn to simply disregard it. When we do, the ego fades, for it has no true substance. Its only purpose is to distract you for its own survival. Once you learn to ignore it, your focus will shift entirely to being the successful soul you were always meant to be.

Creativity as a Spiritual Function

If we know we are children of Infinite Intelligence, then we must examine the Source. You can call it God, the Universe, Source, or the Divine, but regardless of what you call it, its nature is that of a Creator. It creates ALL that Is.

So if the Creator created you, then you must be creative. A cow does not birth a chicken. Infinite Intelligence creates extensions of Itself as Infinite Intelligence. You are also a creator, just as God is.

This isn’t egotistical thinking — this is Divine logic. If you deny your creativity, you are condemning your creator. You are saying that God made a mistake with you. Or that God is a jealous dictator who made you less than you deserve to be, demanding slaves, not children.

The Divine has no ego, only perfect love. You are created out of unconditional love so that you can express that love abundantly. Creation begets creation. This is the chain of creators. When you create, you are being exactly who you are.

You don’t have to paint the next Mona Lisa or write a poem. An organized spreadsheet is a creation. A healed relationship, a comfortable home—these can all be sacred creations. What matters is the energy from which it is born.

When you're in that 'zone' when time stands still, you can truly feel yourself expanding into your authentic self. You are functioning as a soul, creating freely as a divine being, echoing the Psalmist's words, 'ye are gods.' At this point, you realize the truth of yourself as immortal, limitless, and vibrant.

Distinguishing Soul Impulses from Ego Lusts

How can you distinguish between acting on a soul impulse and following a desire generated by the ego? This distinction matters, but recognizing it can be challenging. But you can develop discernment.

The ego wants only what it lusts after. And please understand the things it lusts after aren't necessarily “bad.” Food, sex, money, comfort—all of these things are part of our human experience. There is nothing wrong with eating cheesecake or making love with your partner. I think old religious guilt tries to make us think sensual pleasure is some sort of “sin.” It’s not.

But the ego lusts after these things to distract you. When you’re hellbent on getting your next dopamine fix, your next new purchase, or your next sexual encounter to try and fill that perceived gap in you— THAT is ego. It pulls you away from creativity by filling your time with useless pursuits and draining your energy.

Following your soul feels empowering. It feeds you. You know the difference in feeling between scrolling for three hours straight versus creating something for three hours. When you wipe your forehead from a day in the garden or at your desk writing, you feel tired but accomplished, not empty and anxious.

Your ego fears your soul's calling, and it wants you to fear it too. It will show you “examples” of others who have walked their path and gotten hurt. “Look at that person. What a failure they are,” your ego whispers. “They quit their safe job to start a business, and now they have nothing.” “Remember, people who dedicated their lives to following their souls in ancient history were often killed for it. Don’t rock the boat.”

The ego relies on fear and comparison to prevent you from following your soul's purpose. It stresses narratives of failure and tragedy, but this only distracts you from the truth: your soul is invincible. Only by accepting the ego's fears can you delay reconnecting with your soul. Remember, nothing can conquer your soul, because it was created perfect, and it remains perfect no matter what anyone says or does.

The Safety of Your Spiritual Flow

We have multiple ways we try to protect ourselves: amulets, medicines, alarm systems, and insurance plans. These things are all well and good, but the best protection you have is your soul.

When you are operating from your soul’s purpose, you enter a spiritual flow wherein you have Divine protection. You are doing what you were created to do. The Universe will conspire to help you. This isn’t new age nonsense; this is practical spirituality.

When you take action on your creativity, notice how the world around you changes: Doors open, resources appear. This is the power of stepping into your spiritual flow, where life begins to align with ease and abundance. People support you. Your needs are met—not necessarily as your ego would dictate, but you are fully taken care of.

Your ego will try to convince you that if you want to stay alive, you'd better be struggling and fitting in. “Who do you think you are to have your needs met?” “Who do you think you are to succeed?” The ego will attack any sense of ease that you allow yourself to entertain. The soul knows that life is meant to flow with ease and abundance.

If you want to tap into this feeling of safety, you must practice listening every day. Take time to connect with the silent part of your mind that doesn’t fear and allows you to enter a state of spiritual flow Meditate. Pray. Go for a walk. Just spend some time connecting to the silent part of your mind that doesn’t fear.

The Arrogance of Smallness

I think the most lethal lie that we believe is that it’s humble to play small. “Oh, I’m nobody. I’m just one person. I don’t matter.” That is not humility. That is arrogance. It’s arrogant to look at something that God created (you!) and say, “This isn’t good enough.” You’re being arrogant when you ignore the light that shines within you.

Humility is accepting that you are great. You aren't taking personal responsibility for your greatness; you are humbled by the force out of which your greatness is formed. Humility is accepting that you are the light of the world.  When you embrace your greatness, you align with your spiritual flow, allowing your unique light to shine and contribute to the world. Humility is knowing that you have something essential to offer that no one else can.

You are just as important as Beethoven. You have the same worth as Mother Teresa. You hold the same value as any historical figure you admire. They may have connected more often with the light of their souls than you have up to this point. However, their inner light was no more sacred than yours.

When you dim your light, you steal from the world. You take away from other human beings the gift of your individual frequency. You attempt to steal from God. But God is not mocked. You can't dim your light no matter how hard you may try.

The Wave of Determination

Imagine what would happen if nobody listened to their ego’s voice of separation and fear anymore. Imagine what would happen if everybody started listening to their creative voice and moved into their spiritual flow.

It would create a wave of determination throughout humanity's collective unconscious. We would awaken. We would look around at our war, poverty, and cruelty and ask, “What the heck are we doing?”

That is the esoteric meaning behind the phrase “Second Coming.” It is not someone coming down from the heavens. It is the higher consciousness (knowledge of our interconnection and divinity) awakening within every man, woman, and child. It is you knowing you are the light.

When you heal yourself by allowing yourself to be a creator, you help heal the world. They both happen at the same time. Your piece of the puzzle is required to complete the picture.

Your world's darkness doesn't mean it's hopeless. When you show up to the darkness in your life with your light, healing happens in your very presence. Your world is yearning for more light, and that is the very reason the infinite sent YOU.

A Call to Your Unique Greatness

Infinite Intelligence ignores your reasons for rejecting your soul. It doesn’t understand concepts like being too old, too poor, too sick, or too busy. Its only focus is waiting for you to cease resisting yourself and choose to accept who you truly are.

You can resist truth. You can distract yourself from it. You can allow fear to have the final say. But you cannot escape who you are—you are the only you there is. So why not step into your greatness and let your soul shine?

Now is the moment to listen to your inner voice and let your spiritual flow guide you into unexplored realms.. Quiet the world's noise and pay attention. What small, steady voice beneath is calling you? What do you want to create? What do you deeply long for? Let yourself respond to that call. Follow it into unexplored realms. Get immersed in what draws you most.

You are essential. You are safe. You are a god, nothing more and nothing less. Show up and be YOU. Unapologetically you. The world doesn’t need a substitute—it needs you.
