Infinite Intelligence: The Source of All That Is

Updated: 4 hours ago

Starry night sky with glowing star at center, surrounded by wispy clouds, and silhouetted trees below. Deep blues evoke tranquility.

When we first learn about the divine, we are often handed a picture book version of reality. For many of us, God was introduced as a very smart person living in the sky. Perhaps you envisioned a stern father figure, watching from the clouds, tallying up your mistakes. Or, if your upbringing was softer, maybe you imagined a nurturing mother figure within the earth.

These images serve a purpose when we are young. They give us something to hold onto. But as we mature, these anthropomorphic ideas—these human-shaped containers for the divine—start to feel too small. They feel separate. If God is a man in the sky, then he is over there, and I am over here. There is a gap.

But what happens when you close that gap? What happens when you realize that the force behind the universe isn't a person at all, but intelligence itself?

This is the shift toward understanding Infinite Intelligence. It is not a being with a brain like yours or mine; it is the source of all. It is the force that knows how to create a baby from a single embryo. It designs solar systems in which planets dance around a central sun in perfect balance. It orchestrates the silent, green magic of photosynthesis, turning sunlight into the oxygen we breathe.

When we begin to view the creator not as a separate entity but as Infinite Intelligence, the entire texture of our lives changes. We stop looking for a deity to save us and start recognizing the genius that already lives through and as us.

Infinite Intelligence as a Master Engineer

Think of the most brilliant engineer you can imagine. If they were truly a master of their craft, would they build a machine with extra, useless parts? Would they build an engine and forget a piston? Of course not. A perfect engineer builds with absolute efficiency and purpose.

The universe is an intelligent universe. It is at least as smart as that engineer.

Infinite Intelligence does not make mistakes. It did not create the cosmos with anything lacking, and it did not create it with anything extra. This simple logic leads to a profound realization about you.

You are an extension of this intelligence. You are not a random accident. Because you were created by a perfect force, you are not lacking anything. There is no part of you that is "extra" or "wasted." You might feel like you are missing something—confidence, money, love, direction—but that feeling is a trick of perception.

In reality, your True Will is a fragment of this greater will. It has a specific function. It knows exactly where to go, what to do, and how to get there. It is super smart. When we feel stupid, lost, or insufficient, it is usually because we have cut ourselves off from the awareness of this connection. We have forgotten that the intelligence that spins the galaxies is the same intelligence beating our hearts.

Moving Beyond the "Person" in the Sky

Outgrowing the childhood image of a "daddy God" or a "mommy Goddess" can feel destabilizing at first. There is a comfort in thinking there is a big person looking out for you. When you strip that away, some people swing to the opposite extreme. They decide that if there is no man in the sky, there is no God at all. They decide it is just cold, dead forces of nature—electricity, gravity, thunder.

This viewpoint, while logical to some, robs you of the richness of your experience. It makes the universe feel sterile.

Infinite Intelligence is not a cold, arbitrary force like lightning. It is personal. It has a very specific idea about who you are. It has an intimate relationship with you because it is in and through you. There is no line where you stop and God starts. There is no border where the divine ends and you begin.

You are an extension of it, just as a sunbeam is an extension of the sun. You cannot have the beam without the sun, and the sun expresses itself through the beam.

This is a beautiful concept to ponder, but it is also one that your ego will likely hate.

The Ego's War on Connection

The ego creates its identity through separation. It defines itself by how it is different from everything else. "I am me, and you are you. I am better than him. I am worse than her. I am alone."

The ego works full-time to keep you from realizing your connection to Infinite Intelligence. If you realized that you are supported by the genius of the universe, the ego would lose its job as your protector, boss, and motivator. It wants to be in charge.

There are essentially two motivational forces within us. You can think of them as voices, though they aren't always audible. There is the voice of the spirit, which speaks for connection and unity, and the voice of the ego, which screams for separation and defense.

It often feels like these two are at war. But the only one fighting is the ego. Infinite Intelligence does not fight because it does not know opposition. It does not have an ego. It does not see you as an ego. It simply sees you as an extension of itself.

However, this intelligence is smart enough to know when you are in distress. It knows when you have fallen asleep to your true nature. And because it is the source of all supply, it can provide every resource necessary—at any moment in time or point in space—to wake you up and bring you back to happiness.

Seeing the Genius in Others

One of the most potent ways to practice this understanding is to change how we view other people.

We all encounter people who are acting, quite frankly, stupidly. They might be cruel, ignorant, or frustrating. The ego wants to meet them at that level. It wants to judge, fight back, and prove them wrong. This creates a clash of wills, a collision of two egos reinforcing the illusion of separation.

Instead, try a different approach. Look at that person and remind yourself that the genius of the universe is extending itself as them, too. Even if they are completely unaware of it. Even if they are resisting that truth with every fiber of their being.

You do not have to buy into their delusion. You can see the truth for them.

This is a powerful form of magic. No candles or rituals are required. You simply sit, relax your mind, and contemplate the idea that Infinite Intelligence is flowing through that difficult person just as it flows through you. By doing this, you rise above the conflict. You stay grounded in truth.

Infinite Intelligence is never cruel. Cruelty is a sign of a lack of intelligence. Therefore, in the absolute truth of things, there is no cruelty in God, and there is no cruelty in the true nature of any person.

When we see cruelty in the world—and we certainly do—we are seeing a nightmare. We are seeing people who are lost in an illusion, acting out of pain and confusion. It is the raving of someone caught in a bad dream.

This doesn't mean we let people walk all over us. If someone is dangerous, we take appropriate action in the physical world. We might need to set boundaries, call authorities, or distance ourselves. But we do it without the poison of hatred. We do it while recognizing that their soul is perfect, even if their personality is currently acting out a tragedy.

The Magic of Projection

We live in a world that operates largely on projection. The ancient texts, particularly the Psalms, hint at a fascinating truth: the divine appears to you however you expect it to appear.

If you expect a vengeful judge, you will find evidence of judgment everywhere. If you expect a cold, indifferent void, you will feel isolated. We have the power to project our internal state onto the external screen of the world.

We are all magicians. We are all projecting constantly. The problem is that most of us are doing it unconsciously. Our egos run amok, projecting fear, scarcity, and separation, and then we look at the messy result and say, "See? The world is a terrible place."

It becomes a cycle of action and reaction. Someone projects anger onto us; we react with defensiveness. We project fear; they react with aggression. We think this back-and-forth ping-pong game is reality. It isn't. It's just a movie we are all co-writing badly.

The shift happens when we stop relying on our ego to run the projector.

We can learn to ask Infinite Intelligence to project through us. We can ask to see the world as the universe sees it, rather than through the distorted lens of our past traumas and fears. This is what it means to wake up. We stop reacting to the illusions of others and start creating from a place of truth.

Healing Problems through Intelligence

Let’s bring this down to earth. How does this help when you are broke? How does this help when your marriage is falling apart or you received a scary medical diagnosis?

When things go wrong, the ego's first instinct is to "fix it." We scramble. We worry. We try to manipulate the external world to make the pain go away. Sometimes this works temporarily, but often we just rearrange the furniture on the Titanic.

These problems—financial struggle, illness, conflict—are not the will of Infinite Intelligence. It is not "God's will" that you be broke or sick. The will of the universe is for expansion, creation, and joy.

So, when you face a crisis, consider the possibility that this is a call from your deep mind to reconnect. The problem is a symptom of believing you are separate from your source.

The most effective step you can take is not physical action, at least not initially. It is orientation.

  1. Stop and Admit: Admit that your ego does not know how to fix this. If it knew the answer, you wouldn't be in this mess.

  2. Reorient: Turn your attention toward Infinite Intelligence. Remind yourself that you are connected to the source of all solutions.

  3. Ask for Vision: Ask for the intelligence that built the stars to reveal the next step to you.

When you do this, you might get an intuitive nudge. Maybe the answer is to stop spending money on some specific thing. Maybe the answer is to call a certain person. Or, paradoxically, maybe the answer is to do nothing and let the knots untangle themselves.

When the solution comes, it often looks like genius to the outside world. People might ask, "How did you figure that out?" But you know the truth. You didn't figure it out. You got out of the way. You allowed Infinite Intelligence to express itself through you.

Developing a Magical Practice

This is not a one-time event. It is a practice. Becoming adept at this kind of magic requires consistency. It demands that we learn how to withdraw our ego's frantic impulses and lean back into the support of the universe.

It can be as simple as sitting for five minutes, closing your eyes, and silently repeating the words "Infinite Intelligence." As you say the words, contemplate what they mean. Think about the vastness, the precision, and the love inherent in a force that sustains all existence.

The good news? You will have plenty of chances to practice. Life will constantly present you with situations that baffle your ego. Every frustration, every bill, every difficult conversation is an invitation to pause and invoke this greater mind.

And even better news: Infinite Intelligence is not punitive. If you forget and react with anger today, you aren't punished. You just get another chance tomorrow. And the day after that.

We are slowly, gradually learning to live as extensions of genius rather than victims of circumstance. We are learning that we are not isolated beings fighting for survival, but beloved expressions of a source that knows exactly who we are and exactly what we need.

By anchoring ourselves in this truth, we don't just solve our problems. We begin to remember who we actually are. And that is the most intelligent thing we can possibly do. Thank you for spending time with me! Blessed be.
